We stock CPAP masks from Australia’s most trusted suppliers, including ResMed, Fisher & Paykel and Philips.
Finding the Right Mask for You
There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to selecting a CPAP mask. Various factors will determine which mask is the right choice for you, including your usual sleeping position and how you generally breathe throughout the night. Each mask will have headgear to keep it in place and ensure the mask retains a seal all throughout the night, even as you move around. You should expect a comfortable fit from your mask of choice, and not experience any air leakage - which is a sign of an ill fitting mask.
Nasal and Nasal Pillow Masks
Nasal pillow CPAP masks are often considered the least obtrusive as they don’t have a hard shell. If you are a side sleeper, a nasal pillow mask may be the best choice for you. A nasal pillow mask, or a nasal mask, both offer a good seal even when lying on your side, as well as soft, adjustable headgear.
Full Face Masks
However, if you are a mouth breather, you will probably be better suited to a full face mask, which are generally recommended to those that predominantly breathe through their mouth during the night.
If you are a back sleeper, you can have your pick of any mask and comfort is assured, as this position accommodates even the bulkiest of full face masks. Back sleepers are less likely to dislodge their masks during the night, but your doctor may advise you not to sleep on your back, as it can worsen your sleep apnea symptoms.
